Neither team had all that much depth hiding behind its productive starting lines. There is a good chance that Bunting would have no clue what to do with Peppers (pun not intended) when he came off the bench. Coach Smith would probably stick to his standard man-to-man defense and run the risk of Haywood and Forte going off. There would not be much answer for Haywood, and it is hard seeing even Grubar shut down Forte.
The three point problem rears its head again here. It would be a key tool for Forte to impose his will on the game. However, the senior leadership and efficiency of the 1969 team would allow them to expose the holes of the younger (if larger) Heels. Dedmon would provide a bigger lift from the bench, but again Peppers.
In the end I have to give the edge to the 1969 team for being the more complete unit. They would have the ability to overcome adversity in this one and a see a big shot from Scott winning the game very late.

The 1969 team moves on to face the 1982 team in the next round. Geez, that escalated quickly. Game 4 will be next here though with the final play-in game. 1991 vs 1967. See you then.
