The ACC Tournament means different things for the four teams of Tobacco Road.

The NC State Wolfpack, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Duke Blue Devils, and North Carolina Tar Heels are all head to Brooklyn where they will participate in the ACC Tournament this year. Each team is in a different boat with a different objective that they need to meet once the ball drops on the Nets’ home floor.

Wake and State will be trying to do things the long way. Both teams play on the first day of the tournament. This means that they will have to play two more games than number one seed North Carolina in order to win the whole thing. Duke is between these two extremes, waiting for the winner of the day 1 battles before starting their journey on day 2.

Between them these four teams own three of the five first team All-ACC players. They also own the ACC Freshman of the Year. The great story of the 2017 ACC Basketball Tournament will not be written without these four teams playing significant roles. Let’s look at each of them.
