23. Right Tackle – Chris Terry (1999-2002)

Terry missed the Panthers’ Super Bowl runner-up season. His departure led to the drafting of Gross, which was a gift in and of itself. He was acquired in a trade with the Colts that sent away cornerback Tyrone Poole. Somehow Terry ended up on this team and not Poole.

Terry was let go in 2002. He played a few more seasons with the Seahawks and the Chiefs. Then things turned dark for the former tackle from Georgia. In 2010, Terry was arrested under charges that included possessing and dealing cocaine in Indiana.

The other tackle that could have been here would have been Blake Brockermeyer from the earliest Panthers seasons. Brockermeyer had the honor of being one of the first drafted Panthers. Jeff Otah might have been in this spot if he had been able to stay healthy. The Panther run game was never better when Otah was in peak form.
