Offensive Line

Lost – Lukas Crowley (SR), John Heck (SR), Caleb Peterson (SR), John Ferranto (SR)

Signed – Jonah Melton (4 star, 6’4” 285 lbs), Billy Ross (3 star, 6’5” 292 lbs), Brian Anderson (3 star, 6’3” 282 lbs), Jordan Tucker (3 star, 6’6” 320 lbs), Marcus McKethan (3 star, 6’5” 328 lbs)

The team lost a series of good linemen that unfortunately never all got to play together over the course of the year. These new guys are not likely to see action until they get a little heavier. Of course Tucker and McKethan are already enormous. Expect most of these guys to get redshirted or available for emergencies.

Defensive Line

Lost – Nazair Jones (DT-JR), Mikey Bart (DE-SR)

Signed – Jake Lawler (DE, 4 star, 6’3” 225 lbs), Jordan Riley (DT, 3 star, 6’5” 288 lbs), Xach Gill (DT, 3 star, 6’4” 284 lbs)

The impression here is clear. Defensive coordinator Gene Chizik wants bulk on the defensive line. While Lawler could be deployed as a freshman rusher, look for Riley and Gill to spend the year getting stronger unless depth speaks otherwise.
