8. Games in which NC State out-gained its opponent

The Wolfpack gained over 500 yards of offense in four of its games in 2016 (William & Mary, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Syracuse), peaking with its 544-yard ransacking of the Orange. Four of State’s opponents provided more offensive yardage (Clemson, Louisville, Boston College, Miami) with the Cardinals being the only team to rack up over 500 yards against the Pack defense (553).

7. NC State’s yards per catch in the ACC

The Wolfpack offense provided 5,041 of total offense, and 3,152 of those went through the air. Stephen Louis led the team in receiving yardage with 657 while hauling in two touchdowns. Kelvin Harmon caught a team-high five scores, tied for 19th-best in the conference. As a team, State averaged 12.9 yards per catch, ranking seventh in the ACC. However, the Pack only caught 17 touchdowns, placing 11th in the league and 77th out of 128 FBS teams.
