9. Field goals

One of the glaring spots in NC State’s 2016 season was special teams. Kyle Bambard and Connor Haskins combined for nine field goals on 17 attempts this season. The Wolfpack was 37-for-49 in red zone scoring this year, and five of State’s 12 failed attempts were due to missed field goals. The biggest misstep of the Pack’s kickers came on the road against Clemson where Bambard, primed to upset one the nation’s best teams, missed a 33-yard try as time expired. The Tigers, currently preparing for its College Football Playoff game against Ohio State, would win in overtime, 24-17.
