NC State Wolfpack: The Twelve Days of PACKmas
10. Total touchdowns each for Matthew Dayes and Jaylen Samuels
Despite not knowing who would be the quarterback, State fans rested easy knowing two potent offensive weapons were returning for 2016. After his 2015 season ended early against the Clemson Tigers, Dayes returned to the starting tailback position and pounded the rock into the end zone 10 times in 2016, tying him with Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans for seventh in the ACC.
Samuels, a All-ACC selection and third-team All-American a year ago, once again became the go-to target through the air for the Pack. The Mallard Creek HS standout led the team in receptions with 49 and caught four touchdown passes while rushing for 180 yards on 31 carries with six scores.
