Four Carolina Panthers will have a guaranteed postseason role as Pro Bowl participants.

The Carolina Panthers had a relatively bad season. They failed to make the playoffs [for the most part] to defend their NFC Championship. Likewise, they will not get the chance to play in the Super Bowl this season.

There is a less than one percent chance that the Carolina Panthers could actually make the playoffs. Despite there being a small likelihood that this could happen, it is still possible. In 2014, the Panthers went to the playoffs with a 7-8-1 record.

In light of their misfortunes, the Panthers have some good news. On this past Monday night, they spoiled the Washington Redskins’ chances of making the playoffs by defeating them 26-15.

Here’s another bit of good news for the Panthers. Four Panthers’ players were selected to the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl. They are Greg Olsen (tight end), Luke Kuechly (linebacker), Thomas Davis (linebacker) and Mike Tolbert (fullback).

This Pro Bowl marks the second one for Davis, the third one for Olsen and Tolbert and the fourth one for Kuechly.

Olsen ranks second in NFL tight ends with 71 receptions and first in receiving yards for tight ends with 992 yards. He ranks 12th among all receivers in receiving yards. If he nets eight more receiving yards, then Olsen will be the first NFL tight end to have three consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 yards.
