Duke Blue Devils: NBA Updates in November 2016
The Duke Blue Devils have a lot of former players in the NBA. These players are some of the best players in the league.
The list includes Luol Deng, Mike Dunleavy, Jr., Gerald Henderson, Jr., Rodney Hood, Kyrie Irving, Josh McRoberts, Jabari Parker, Mason Plumlee, Justise Winslow, Miles Plumlee, J.J. Redick, Austin Rivers, Kyle Singler, Lance Thomas, Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, Brandon Ingram, Marshall Plumlee and Seth Curry.
In this article, we discuss how several former Blue Devils fared during the month of November.
Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers, point guard, #2
Kyrie Irving has the best handles in the NBA. In addition, he leads the Cleveland Cavaliers in points per game. Yes, more than LeBron James.
Irving is having his best NBA season yet. The Cavaliers sit at 13-3, tops in the Eastern Conference. This is largely due to their former Blue Devil who plays point guard and shooting guard.
Cleveland found their identity late last season. Irving is a scorer. James loves to set players up. Switching their roles was the perfect marriage that resulted in the consummation of an NBA championship ring.
Irving has scored at least 20 points in every game this season except two. During the month of November, Irving averaged 24.4 points, 4.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 49.4% from the field, 41.3% from three-point range and 84.6% from the free throw line.
His season-high in points so far this season came against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 27, 2016. If he continues this spectacular display of skills, the Cleveland Cavaliers look poised to repeat as NBA champions.
