Jeff Teague, Indiana Pacers, point guard, #44

During the offseason, Jeff Teague left the Atlanta Hawks and became a member of the Indiana Pacers.

Teague has had a good NBA career thus far. As a Hawk, Teague averaged 12.1 points, 5.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game for his career. This season, Teague’s numbers have declined considerably. He averages 8.3 points, 7.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Perhaps, his decline could be due to the rise of Myles Turner and star versatile player Paul George. Keep in mind that Monta Ellis plays the shooting guard position for the Pacers. One way to think is that it was inevitable for Teague’s production to decrease in some way merely because of a change in scenery.

Teague is shooting poorly this season. He has a 21.4% field goal percentage, 11.1% three-point percentage and 68.4% free throw percentage. Teague’s career averages are 44.6% from the field, 35.1% three-point percentage and 83.7% free throw percentage.

Despite his low numbers, Teague started off this season with a bang. In a Pacers’ 130-121 win over the Dallas Mavericks, Teague scored 20 points, dished eight assists, had three steals and grabbed two rebounds.

In his most recent game, Teague was close to notching a triple-double with nine points, six rebounds and six assists in a 115-108 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers.
