In Madden 17, there will be four players who have overall ratings of 99. These players are Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots), Von Miller (Denver Broncos), J.J. Watt (Houston Texans) and Luke Kuechly (Carolina Panthers). Yes, three of the top four players in Madden 17 are defensive players.
Kuechly is unique in the fact that he is a middle linebacker with a rating of 99 and the highest-rated middle linebacker in Madden 17. In reality, it is safe to say that ‘middle linebackers are the quarterbacks on defense.’
In regards to Madden 17, the middle linebacker is one of the key positions to use on defense because he is located in the middle of the defense. Kuechly’s position is ideal for dropping back into coverage, blitzing the quarterback or closing in on a runner or wide receiver.
What rating to focus on his Kuechly’s speed rating of 86. This rating matches his speed with Cam Newton’s speed. Literally and figuratively, Kuechly is the Newton of Carolina’s defense in Madden 17. Kuechly’s ability to cover receiving targets is tops for linebackers, as well.
