East Carolina Pirates

I hoped that Carden would make an impact in the league. Perhaps he still will.

Two years ago I said

“East Carolina has a better NFL resume for quarterbacks than the flagship, and that is because of Jeff Blake and David Garrard. Those two were capable NFL starters.”

The departure of Lincoln Riley last year has left the immediate future of the program in question. We simply don’t know what new coach Scottie Montgomery will do at the position. However he did learn from quarterback guru David Cutcliffe, so maybe he will have better luck.

Charlotte 49ers and Appalachian State Mountaineers

Neither team was FBS in 2014. The Mountaineers have found their man in Taylor Lamb, but it will be two years before we find out if he is draft worthy.
