Carolina Panthers: Update 5/18
The Carolina Panthers have made a little news since rookie camp. The biggest thing was the release of Brandon Boykin which suggested that the Panthers really like their rookie trio of cornerbacks. However that is not the only thing that has happened to the Panthers as we try to catch up with some of the things floating around the web.
Did you know that celebrities forget who Cam Newton is when under the pressure of winning money for charity? Well newspeople Anderson Cooper, Lara Logan, and former Republican National Committee chair and current analyst Michael Steele did.
See if the clue gives you enough information to figure it out:
Turns out that you can make great gains in the House of Representatives in 2010 or host a daily talk show and not know who Cam Newton is. Bulletin board material, Cam.

Then from the players who are not legends to the legends in their own mind. According to reports from ESPN’s David Newton, Panthers signee Keyarris Garrett claimed to be the best receiver in the NFL Draft in 2016. Garrett’s logic despite not being drafted at all? He had more stats than the other guys. Garrett is an interesting project piece since he has the all the height you need for the position, but I am not putting him in front of Devin Funchess just yet.
The Panthers had two spots on their ninety man roster to fill and they have filled them in the last twenty-four hours. The team picked up tight end Marcus Lucas. Lucas spent 2014 on the Panthers’ practice squad before getting cut in training camp in 2015. The Panthers like him enough to bring him back.
Next: The Sanchize Cometh. (Parody)
The final Panther going into training camp is wide receiver Avius Capers. The Johnson C. Smith product was on the Panthers’ roster last year in training camp before being let go in the final cuts. The 5’9” 200 lbs receiver will get another look this year.
