NC State Wolfpack: Add Burris to the Drafted
The NC State Wolfpack were able to add a 4th round pick to their list of success stories.
The NC State Wolfpack did not remain quiet in the draft’s final day. They were able to add an additional draftee to their two third round picks. As both of those players ended up with the New England Patriots, it only made sense that the next one would end up on the New York Jets.
The Jets took corner Juston Burris with the twentieth pick of the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Burris now gets to go be a big physical corner for a team that likes big physical corners. The Jets parted ways with Antonio Cromartie earlier this off season and are looking for depth to place at position headlined by Darelle Revis.
Burris will likely have to make his mark on the special teams unit in year one, but if he impresses Coach Todd Bowles then he could find himself on the field in nickel or dime formations.

State had the best draft of the schools located within the state. They managed to not only have earliest draftees but also the most. It had to be somewhat satisfying to see Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest get shut out of the draft entirely.

The biggest surprise had to be the fall of safety Jeremy Cash, though that could have been injury related. Of the undrafted Tar Heels, guard Landon Turner had to be the biggest surprise. So the eleven win Tar Heels could not generate a single draftee has to be a little concerning for them.
Meanwhile State can add Burris’ name to their success this year as they continue to build under Coach Dave Doeren. While they will have to replace their quarterback next year, the Wolfpack can view this draft as some kind of momentum toward the real goal of upsetting the ACC Atlantic Division.
