Atlanta Hawks

So let’s start with the Atlanta Hawks (44-30, 8 ½ games back of first). The Hawks have played one more game than the Hornets, so that could be good news if the Hornets find themselves needing a final win that the Hawks won’t be able to answer.

Remaining Hawks games:

@Chicago

@Toronto

Cleveland

Phoenix

Toronto

Boston

@Cleveland

@Washington

The Hawks have a pretty tough closing stretch. The model and the rules we are using say that the Hawks will win the Bulls, Suns, Celtics, and Wizards games. The model suggests they will lose both games against Toronto and both games against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

One of the more unpredictable teams for the Hawks is the Chicago Bulls. They currently sit in ninth place but are unlikely to just roll over.

Given the 44-30 record the Hawks have now, the model predicts that the Hawks will finish 48-34 on the year. To see where that gets them, we need to move on to the Boston Celtics.
