Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Notre Dame Preview
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are (3-6). Their last three games of the season then allow them to gain bowl eligibility. All they have to do is beat Notre Dame, Clemson, and Duke. Scratch that they have to beat #4 Notre Dame, #1 Clemson, and Duke. Okay, okay, they have to beat #4 Notre Dame (away), #1 Clemson (away), and Duke (home).
This is a really tall order for anybody, but especially so for a team that has not been a juggernaut on offense. Winning any of those games will require a Herculean effort by the Wake Forest defense. In order to maintain delusional optimism, let’s approach this with the idea that Wake can somehow pull out the first game.
Opponent: #4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-1)
Date: November 14
Time: 3:30 PM
TV: NBC
Venue: Notre Dame Stadium (Notre Dame, IN)

The one character that Wake Forest will not see is running back C.J. Prosise, which means that Wake has a chance to shut down the run game and make Notre Dame one-dimensional. Then they would have to put pressure on DeShone Kizer to create some mistakes. If they cannot do that then the Irish will run away with this game.
It will be interesting to see if Wake uses more of Kendall Hinton in this game. They would sacrifice some precision in the pass game in order to have a little more run threat. Against a team like Notre Dame, Wake may need an answer for quarterback pressure.
Wake’s best chance is for Notre Dame to look ahead in their schedule to a bigger game. The only problem with that is Notre Dame currently sits fourth in the College Football Playoff ranking but have no guarantee of staying there with teams like Baylor lurking just below them.
Prediction: 41-3, Notre Dame
