Power Rankings: Old North Banter Week 9
Time for a quick look at Week 9 Power Rankings. With the North Carolina Tar Heels ready to kick off in just a few hours, it is necessary to crank these babies out before that happens. Week 9 witnessed mostly a status quo in the Rankings with one big exception that will become obvious as the list unfolds.
Duke retains the top spot by virtue of its overtime victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies. If they had lost then this list would have undergone a huge reshuffling of characters in most of the spots. Good for you, Duke, in keeping things easy for myself.
The State went 3-2 over the week, continuing to show its dominance over the states of Virginia and Georgia in this year’s competition. In case you are curious, I do not include intrastate matchups in that total. In the State vs Wake game, the State would have won and lost, rendering the idea moot.
