The Charlotte 49ers find themselves once more in the seven spot. Losing to Temple this year is no particular crime, and the 49ers did bring their turnover problem under control in rainy conditions. However they still got beat by thirty points. It appears that Charlotte is going to continue to let Lee McNeill try to win the quarterback job. Kalif Phillips has been the steady hand in the backfield.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons made a pretty good accounting of themselves, even though they did lose to Florida State. Freshman Kendall Hinton is still adjusting, but he had a touchdown pass and he found Cam Serigne ten times. His legs also kept the ball moving. Wake also got some run game from Matt Colburn. Tough defense might have made the game an upset if they had not given up a ninety four yard touchdown to Dalvin Cook early in the game.
