2. Riding the Coattails of Northwestern is dangerous
The second biggest piece on the Duke resume besides the Yellow Jacket win is the Northwestern loss. The Wildcats are working up the polls, and they remain Duke’s best ally for consideration. The Wildcats beat a now resurgent Stanford team and are undefeated. In the next two weeks they face Michigan in the Big House and unbeaten Iowa.
This will be the test for the Wildcats since the rest of the Big Ten West is pretty unspectacular. Then there is the late season game against Wisconsin, which is always tough.
If the Wildcats come out of those games with two losses then their usefulness to Duke is over.
