There are several indications that the East Division of the AAC can still be had. First off, Cincinnati has already lost in conference to Temple. This means the Bearcats are beatable, and they come to Greenville later in the season.

Central Florida, the trendy preseason pick, has gotten off to an 0-3 start. The Knights have fallen to the Panthers of FIU and the Palladins of Furman sandwiching a blowout loss to the Stanford Cardinal. The Knights clearly look to be in the same or greater disarray than the Pirates.
Temple’s victories over Penn State and Cincinnati reveal a team that is also going to muddy the waters in the East Division. The Owls might buy the Pirates some help simply by beating up on some of the other teams in the conference. It would not do to let the Owls get too far ahead though.
