5-Star duo coming to NC State?

Possible 5-Star duo coming to Raleigh? A CBS Sports article by Matt Norlander asked the question could NC State actually land the highly coveted duo of point guard Dennis Smith Jr. and power forward Bam Adebayo?

Apparently so.
Recent reports have NC State in the mix with both recruits and are actual favorites with some analysts. However, in the recruiting world this can and often does change from week to week. But sometimes it doesn’t. Both young men are from North Carolina and are very familiar with NC State and the overall (NC) basketball climate. So selling them on NC State or convincing them of the benefits that the ACC provides may not be as much a big deal as the intangibles of being close to home, playing time and potential teammates. Adebayo is from Pinetown, N.C. and Smith Jr. grew up in Godwin, N. C. The two are longtime friends and have played basketball together for years including recently in AAU basketball.

Adebayo is a 6’9, 232lb. big man with NBA caliber talent today. Not next year or in two or three years, but TODAY. He was first offered a basketball scholarship by NC State when he was only 15 years old.
Dennis Smith, Jr. is a 6’3, 180lb. dynamo who is considered one of the best point guards in the Class of 2016. Last week Smith, Jr. reduced his list to six teams leaving the Wolfpack, Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, Louisville and the Kentucky Wildcats as potential final destinations. With possible UNC sanctions looming, one would think the Tarheels would be considered a longer that usual shot at winning this prized recruit. Duke has already had happy times on the recruiting trail with the signings of 5-star blue chippers Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles. Maybe Adebayo and Smith, Jr. will show the Wolfpack some love and make Mark Gottfried and his staff happy campers to begin the 2015 basketball season.
