SEIFERT REGION

1 Seed STEVE SMITH over 13 Seed Richard Williamson

The best wide receiver in team history against his long time position coach. Smith takes this particular matchup through his great production which led to points on the field. Williamson can’t take credit for Smith’s accomplishments in a matchup against Smith. Smith also had some good years after Williamson’s retirement in 2010.

2 Seed MARTY HURNEY over 3 Seed Mike Minter

Good management is important to team success, and it was the draft strategy of Marty Hurney that led to the Panthers’ success during the 2000s. He even has Newton and Kuechly to his credit at the end of his tenure. That makes him more important than the man who held down the secondary for about a decade.
