CAPERS REGION

1 Seed JERRY RICHARDSON over 4 Seed Sam Mills

This one was a real heart over head debate, and I was nearly swayed by that cardiac organ. In the end, it was impossible to ignore that Richardson has just been more important to the Panthers than Mills has. Without Richardson there are no Panthers and without his support, no keep pounding campaign. Mills may have a statue, but Richardson still has the team.

2 Seed DOM CAPERS over 11 Seed Wesley Walls

The early Panthers were all about a particular model. That model was the Pittsburgh model, where success was achieved through a creative zone blitz system played by a 3-4 defense. Capers was the point man for such a system and the team built around him. That is why the first head coach of the Panthers is moving on to the regional final.
