2 Seed DOM CAPERS over 7 Seed Kerry Collins

The first head coach against the first draft pick. Capers was a defense guy, and Collins ran the type of offense that he preferred. Both of them cost first day draft picks to come to the Panthers. The difference is that Richardson decided that Capers had to go, but Collins decided Collins had to go. Both went on to some success in later years.

11 Seed WESLEY WALLS over 3 Seed Bill Polian

Maybe I am itching too much to get more upsets. However Wesley Walls was the excitement in the Panthers offense between 1996-2000. Polian left after only a couple of years. Seems sort of strange that more offensive players have survived this far. This Capers era was considered such a defense-centric time period.
