Rivera Region: 7 Seed Ryan Kalil vs 10 Seed Sean McDermott

Seventh Seed – Ryan Kalil

Kalil is the true anchor of the offensive line. He is the only constant between this group of linemen and the past. That arguably makes him more important than a center might otherwise be. Fortunately he is a Pro Bowl level guy.

Tenth Seed – Sean McDermott

McDermott has been the defensive coordinator the entire time Rivera has been the coach. McDermott’s first taste of this level job was with the Eagles, and he brought some of those same high pressure ideas with him to Carolina. McDermott is not afraid to bring linebackers, and it helps to have speed like Kuechly and Davis.
