Rivera Region: 4 Seed Ron Rivera vs 13 Seed Kelvin Benjamin

Fourth Seed – Ron Rivera

The current head coach of the Carolina Panthers made his reputation as a defensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears. He was criticized early on in his career here for being too conservative in his playcalling. The result was the birth of Riverboat Ron. Is there a difference, I am not too sure. The main difference has been the winning. The Panthers finished 12-4 the season that Rivera adopted the riverboat moniker.

Thirteenth Seed – Kelvin Benjamin

The Panthers have been looking for a big threat at receiver forever. Muhammad never had quite the speed, and Steve Smith lacked the size. Benjamin sort fell into the Panthers’ laps deep in the 2014 first round. Supposedly Benjamin held himself back at the Combine to play with Newton. He had a thousand yards in his rookie season, and he is no longer a question mark in the WR corps. Your move, Funchess.
