Fox Region 2 Seed Jordan Gross vs 15 Seed Will Witherspoon
Second Seed – Jordan Gross
In the NFL you can go a long way with a good left tackle. That was Gross, a multiple Pro Bowl winner that contributed at a high level from his first year. Having Gross is one of the reasons that current Panthers fans wonder why just can’t get another one like him. They just aren’t that common, you see.
Fifteenth Seed – Will Witherspoon
The Panthers defense has generally been about having a linebacker tandem back up a good defensive line. The original Fox tandem was Dan Morgan and Will Witherspoon. Unfortunately the Panthers could not afford to keep both along their other defensive pieces. Spoon went on to spend more time with the St Louis Rams than he did with the Panthers. There are still some people who wonder what would have happened if the Panthers had kept Spoon and let Morgan walk.
