The ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is running this week at the Greensboro Colosseum. The opening day of action has so far seen the victory of Wake Forest over Boston College and the loss of NC State to the Virginia Tech Hokies. Georgia Tech plays Clemson to fulfill the first day’s action.

Like the Men’s Tournament, the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament has the double bye format to match its fifteen team membership. Therefore the top four teams don’t even play tomorrow, but will only start action on Friday. Duke fans don’t really need to visit Greensboro until then, though the city could use their patronage and tourist bucks.
Duke fans should turn on the television tomorrow at least to see who their next opponent will be. That could be the Syracuse Orange or that could be the underdog Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Tomorrow’s action will feature the North Carolina Tar Heels, the sixth seed. It will also feature the only Syracuse basketball team that will appear in the postseason this year. Syracuse’s opponent in Thursday’s matchup is the recently victorious Wake Forest Demon Deacons. North Carolina will face the winner of the ongoing Clemson-Georgia Tech matchup.
