The Big Four teams still have a lot to play for as the season enters its final week. Well, okay, maybe Wake Forest and Duke do not. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to what they might be playing for.

Busting Brackets
Wake Forest is sitting at 5-11 in conference and while it could catch Florida State in the standings, it will be looking at a long trip in the ACC tournament if it wants to make a NCAA run in the first year of Danny Manning. Remember that this is only year one, so Manning’s true impact has not settled yet for the Deacs.
Duke, on the other hand, is sitting pretty in the number 2 spot. It cannot catch Virginia after the Cavs win last night, but it is firmly in the top 4 even if it were to lose the last two games of the season. That means that Duke is looking forward to a double bye.

It is the other two Tobacco Road teams that have some work to do in these last two games.
North Carolina plays Georgia Tech and Duke. Tech is away and Duke is home. The Tar Heels sit at the 5th seed right now in the ACC, and that means one bye but not two. The team sitting above them is Louisville, who finishes with as tough a slate as anyone in the conference. Louisville has to play Notre Dame and Virginia, so two losses is certainly possible for them. Those two losses would open the door to North Carolina.
Lastly, we have NC State. State is sitting with a group of teams at 8-8 in the conference. Their neighbors are Pitt, Clemson, Miami, and the postseason banned Syracuse. Three of those teams are going to end up as 6-8 seeds and one is going to be stuck playing Day 1 of the ACC Tournament. State can help their cause greatly by beating Clemson on the road.
NC State is also currently a team on the wrong side of the bubble. Some wins would help that situation too.
