Davidson Wildcats Poised for A10 Title Run
The Davidson Wildcats are beautifully positioned in the Atlantic 10 Conference. With four games to go, they sit in a tie for third place with two games versus teams above them in the standings. This transitional season into the Atlantic Ten has to be considered a success at this point, but what is next for the team?

Busting Brackets
Top four teams in the league get a double bye in the Atlantic 10 Tournament tournament coming up March 11 to the 15. Right now the Wildcats are in good shape to grab a double bye. That goal should be the primary focus of the Wildcats.
With that in mind, the big upcoming tests will be VCU and Rhode Island, both currently tied for first in the league. Davidson will also need to look at UMass, who are not on the schedule but are one game back in the league.
Davidson’s success in conference is partly due to a difficult non-conference slate where they played Virginia and North Carolina. Showing the team that they could play with those teams was good preparation for the competition of the Atlantic Ten.

One of the contributors who has emerged this season is Jackson Gibbs. Gibbs was the trusted sixth man last year, but has truly produced this year. He missed the last several games with an injury, but returned in Friday’s game against Fordham. He scored eleven points in his first action back.
Gibbs shares a name with the fictional father of Agent Gibbs on NCIS, and his return will crucial to whatever run Davidson makes here over their last four games.
As normal, Coach McKillop is downplaying any potential run for the regular season title. Just as UMass is only one game back from Davidson, Davidson is only one game behind the leaders in the Atlantic Ten.
