The Independence will open their season on March 27, when they host the Charleston Battery at a location that is listed as TBA.
The team and city have been working to renovate the old Memorial Stadium, but those renovations will not be completed in time for the opener or most of the season, so the team will have to look elsewhere for a temporary home.
Charlotte won’t get a chance to play defending league champs Orlando City, due to their move to the MLS, but will face other newer clubs like Toronto FC II and Louisville City FC.
