John Fox is looking for a job again. The former Carolina Panthers coach was released by the Denver Broncos despite going 46-18 over his tenure. He also presided over a 3-4 record in the playoffs with the Broncos. That is the primary reason that the Broncos are moving on from Fox. They are looking for a coach who can take them to the next level before Peyton Manning’s time is done, if Manning even has any time left as it is.

Fox’s ouster allows the Broncos to look at hot offensive coordinator Adam Gase to succeed Fox, but the obvious move for Denver is not out there. Rex Ryan is probably kicking himself for having taken the Bills job now that the Broncos job is open. It becomes the biggest domino on the coaching market.
Fox is the one guy who can’t land in Denver, and he also should be highly sought after with his record with the Panthers and the Broncos. For those of you who think that Fox’s record was all a product of Manning, remember that he won a playoff game with Tim Tebow at quarterback. He has ties to the New York area that could make him attractive to the Jets. He has good knowledge of the AFC West that would make him attractive to the Raiders.

SideLion Report
My hunch, and why this is a Panthers article, is that Fox will end up in Atlanta. Sure, he does not offer a much different philosophy than the outgoing Mike Smith. Fox can build a defense, and that will be top priority in Atlanta with Matt Ryan and his wide receiver duo in place for the near future. So the move makes some sense for both sides. Fox has also coached some of the Panthers roster, coached against the Saints, and nobody is taking Tampa into account.
Having Fox in Atlanta will be weird. I’d rather have him there than Rex Ryan, which nearly happened. I have a feeling he will more motivated to beat us than we will be to beat him.
