Brandan Wright to Suns? Could Be

Brandan Wright may be on the move again. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Boston Celtics will send Brandan Wright to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a future draft pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

More from Hornets Rumors

This the second time that Wright has been traded this season. He was previously shipped from the Dallas Mavericks to Boston along with point guard Jameer Nelson and forward Jae Crowder in exchange for point guard Rajon Rondo and forward Dwight Powell. Now it seems that Wright’s time in the Eastern Conference is over for now.

Wright will add some needed size to a Phoenix Suns roster that has been built on smaller lineups and having lots of quality guards. Wright is a good shot blocker and he is a good finisher on the pick and roll. According to James Herbert of CBS Sports, Wright scores on 75% of pick and roll chances. His athleticism will also allow him to be part of the up and down game of the Suns.

Wright was once the first round draft pick of the Charlotte Bobcats before a draft night trade to Golden State for shooting guard Jason Richardson. That seems like ages ago.

The Boston Celtics seem to continue to be setting their roster for future seasons with first the Rondo trade and now the Wright trade. There are even reports of the Celtics dealing small forward Jeff Green to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince’s expiring contract to further dismantle any hopes for the Celtics this season.

Former Tar Heels have been traded a fair bit this season, with Tyler Zeller and Raymond Felton finding new addresses. Wayne Ellington also changed addresses a couple of times and now is playing good minutes with Swaggy P and the Lakers. Hopefully Wright will benefit from playing with Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Isaiah Thomas in his new address.
