Tar Heels Vandalize Duke facilities: What Next?
Someone needs to tell the North Carolina Tar Heels football team that ‘paint the town red’ is not a literal expression. Steve Wiseman of the Durham Herald-Sun reports that the North Carolina football team committed thousands of dollars of damage to the Duke visiting locker room and practice with spray paint.

North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham and coach Larry Fedora have apologized to their opposite numbers at Duke, David Cutcliffe and Kevin White. North Carolina has also pledged to foot the bill, but no word has emerged on whether specific players will be punished through suspensions.
It is kind of a weird happening. On one hand, is it a good thing that the Tar Heels get excited over a win against rival Duke? Probably so. However, vandalism is a line that should never be crossed and it is hard to know what exactly was going through the heads of the guys who decided to do it.

Busting Brackets
I can only guess that this is not over. Someone will be sitting out the State game on Saturday, probably multiple someones. It’s possible that the persons involved may already have one or two strikes to their names. They may never suit up for the Tar Heels again.
This is not the first off field incident the Heels have faced this season. Romar Morris missed the Pitt game for a DWI. Travis Hughes missed the same game for breaking team rules. There was the incident involving the four defensive backs and the walk-on receiver. That’s six guys right there who should not have sniffed any of this incident at peril of some harsher punishment.
Which makes the response that much more interesting. The Tar Heels’ actions in the Duke locker room might have cost them the State game and exiled them to Shreveport, LA. That is a place of so many happy memories.
