Same Story, Different Chapter: Eagles beat Carolina Panthers 45-21
It’s going to be ugly, that’s for sure. The Carolina Panthers walked into Lincoln Financial Field with an opportunity to keep pace with the division leading Saints and blew it big time. They had two turnovers in the first three minutes of the game while playing a team that does not need additional help. It only went downhill from there. Darren Sproles returned a punt for a touchdown, Bradley Fletcher returned an interception for a touchdown.

Then there was the Philadelphia offense, which looked fine under Mark Sanchez. The Sanchize was protected the entire game and found his targets without having to do much of anything that would be considered high risk. That is the kind of game that Sanchez was built for and the Jets never could give him. He had two touchdown passes to Jordan Matthews and threw for 322 yards. Matthews was responsible for 138 of those yards.
The Panthers offense could not overcome its poor line play, a problem that only grew as the game went on because the Eagles were so far ahead. At that point the Eagles did not need to consider the running game and just send everyone after Cam. The Eagles got nine sacks as they simply did not give Cam many escape options to pick from.

Cam threw three picks and fumbled twice with Greg Olsen as his leading receiver. Olsen had over a hundred yards receiving. Kelvin Benjamin made fantasy owners happy, but his two touchdown catches were so late in the game as to be inconsequential to the outcome.
On defense, Thomas Davis had five tackles and a sack. Safety Thomas DeCoud led the team with eight tackles, which gives you an idea where these tackles were being made.
The Panthers again need to keep their nose pressed against the Saints next week when they play the Falcons at home. While it was unlikely the Panthers would beat the Eagles, they MUST beat Atlanta.
