Jameis Winston to Return for NC State game

Clemson made have dodged the Jameis Winston experience, but it does not look like North Carolina State will. After defeating the Tigers in overtime on Saturday night, Jimbo Fisher released a statement that said that Winston would once again be the team’s starting quarterback on Monday.

Florida State has looked more beatable this year than it did last year at this time, even with Winston at quarterback. Against Clemson, the difference between Winston and the next guy almost proved to be the difference between victory and defeat.

If you look at NC State’s schedule, none of teams that State has played this far has had the talent level of Florida State. Likewise none of those teams had a quarterback that could be reasonably compared to Winston. The defending Heisman trophy winner and national champion will test State’s Wolfpack defense in new ways.

    • If that is the case, then State’s best chance is to try to keep pace in a shootout environment and hope for a ball or two to bounce their way in this mess. The State offense has put up forty points each of the last three weeks. The running game is showing some promise. They really need to keep Winston off the field.

    The Florida State defense has not been what it was last year. It has shown that can be had. There is always that possibility too that Florida State could forget they are playing someone this weekend. That has served NC State well in the past when facing the mighty Seminoles.

    In the meantime, there is always the chance that Winston does something else that could get him held out of another game. He has collected several infractions, but the important thing is that he does not seem to learn from them.
