Week 4 Amway Coaches Poll Released: UNC #25

The Amway Coaches Poll saw some movements this week, but the significant things for local schools are all at the bottom of the poll in the receiving votes section. The North Carolina Tar Heels, on bye week, stayed at the #25 spot for the upcoming week. The Duke Blue Devils became the highest vote getter to not be in the poll. The East Carolina Pirates became the highest voted non-BYU non-Power 5 team. North Carolina State received votes for the first time this season after their blowout of South Florida.

The big change in the Poll itself was the absence of Virginia Tech from the rankings. Though East Carolina is now the leading vote getter of the American Athletic Conference, it appears that voters decided that Virginia Tech just wasn’t that good. The chances that East Carolina would enter the poll with a defeat of North Carolina would make some sense. However I would be more likely to say that if ECU was positioned where Duke is.
