  • The ‘Canes lone home preseason game scheduled is on Sept. 23, as they face the Buffalo Sabres.

Other events on the schedule include practice time and specifics, and the Caniac Carnival fan festival which will be on Sept. 26 in Raleigh.

Carolina also announced their television schedule for the season, and much like every year, 79 of the 82 games will be televised on the Fox networks, SportsSouth and Fox Sports Carolinas.

Interestingly enough, all three of the Hurricanes’ games on the NBC Sports Network (Oct. 14 vs. Buffalo, Jan. 27 vs. Tampa Bay and Feb. 24 vs. Philadelphia) are all home games at the PNC.

Marquee matchups for the team include opening night in Raleigh against the Islanders on Oct. 10, and their only home game against the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 2.

The Hurricanes also see some action from other Western Conference foes, including Nashville, St. Louis, Colorado, Arizona and Vancouver.

Home and road games are pretty even on the schedule, but the longest home stretch doesn’t come until March, with two five-game homestands in the final stretch of the season.
