Mitchell Wilbekin has decided to follow Coach Danny Manning to Wake Forest.

Wilbekin, who originally committed to play for Manning when he was still the coach at Tulsa, re-opened his recruiting shortly after Manning left the Golden Hurricanes to become the coach at Wake Forest.

Wilbekin made his decision five days after the Deacons released Shelton Mitchell from his letter of intent. Wilbekin visited the Wake Forest campus over the weekend.

Wilbekin’s brother, Scottie, was the 2014 SEC Player of the Year for Florida.

Mitchell Wilbekin averaged 14.9 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.1 steals at The Rock School in Gainesville, Florida during his senior season.

Wilbekin made the announcement on his twitter feed and via instagram:

He will join Rondale Watson–at least for the time being– as the only incoming freshman for the Deacons this season.
