Wake Forest Football Recruiting: Purdue offers Taiwan Deal
2014 running back and linebacker recruit Taiwan Deal is a versatile recruit who can play anywhere at linebacker (his likely position in college), and Deal can also play at RB too boot. One of the top 20 recruits in the state of Maryland, the DeMatha Catholic standout received a Big Ten offer today from the Purdue Boilermakers.

Deal currently has offers from Purdue, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Boston College Eagles, the in-state Maryland Terrapins, the Connecticut Huskies, the Michigan State Spartans, the Tennessee Volunteers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Vanderbilt Commodores. N.C. State, UNC, Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn St are also interested. Of those interested teams that have not sent offers, the Badgers seem the most likely to offer Taiwan Deal.
Rated by the 247Composite as the 638th best recruit in the 2014 class, the 6’2″, 225 pound solid three-star recruit has no leans but plenty of offers. Another interested team in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets could be prepared for an offer in the near future, because Deal did attend Georgia Tech’s junior day in Atlanta earlier this month. He also unofficially visited West Virginia in the fall before receiving an offer from the Mountaineers in late February, so there is reason to think that WVU could be heavily involved as well.
Deal is a solid prospect to keep on the radar, and it will be interesting to see if Wake Forest can pull him from top programs like WVU, Tennessee, Michigan State, and Iowa. Last season for DeMatha, he rushed for 955 yards and made it to the end zone an excellent 21 times.
