According to the Charlotte Observer, Ted Ginn Jr. flew into Charlotte to visit with the Carolina Panthers earlier this week. The meetings took place, and apparently Ginn left the team very impressed. He left Charlotte with a contract in hand to sign and join the Panthers.

Ginn is known for his talent on special teams and being an excellent return man. Last season he had thirty-two punt take-backs for a total of 326 yards. He didn’t score any touchdowns, but does have six career touchdowns on special teams.

Head coach Ron Rivera hasn’t been shy about the potential of adding Ginn to his roster.

"“Ted came in and did a nice job. I know our guys really spoke highly of his visit. The interesting thing about Ted is he gives us some depth at wide receiver who can challenge for playing time opportunity. But also he’s got special teams value, which is big.” – Rivera on Ginn’s visit"

Ginn could with the arm of Cam Newton revive his career as a wide receiver and fill an important need here for the Panthers.

Reports are also saying that the Cincinnati Bengals have made him an offer too.
