North Carolina had a very ugly start to their 2012-2013 basketball season, but once Roy Williams went to the four guard lineup, not only did he change the landscape of North Carolina basketball, but he got the Tar Heels winning again.

On “Selection Sunday” they found out their NCAA Tournament fate. In a span of about ten games they went from being considered one of the first four out, to a solid team to make the tournament. They are the No. 8 seed in the South bracket.

The first round will be give them Villanova to defeat. Despite the strong results as of late, North Carolina still has some weaknesses that Villanova can exploit and use to send Carolina packing in round one. If North Carolina does win, they will go on to play the winner of No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 16 Western Kentucky.

Oh! By the way, the first two rounds of the south bracket (Kansas, Western Kentucky, North Carolina, and Villanova) will be played in Kansas City, Missouri. Talk about getting screwed, North Carolina surely did!

If they can make it past Kansas in an upset, they will face tough challenges from Michigan, VCU, Florida, and Georgetown in their region.

I have North Carolina losing to Kansas in round two on my bracket. What about your bracket?
