UNC Football Recruiting: Ricky Walker visiting Tar Heels
The North Carolina Tar Heels are set to host one of the top 25 defensive tackles in the 2014 recruiting class today on an unofficial visit in Hampton, Virginia star Ricky Walker. Highly recruited in ACC circles, this will be Walker’s first visit to the state of North Carolina since early November when he took a trip to the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Walker received an offer on that visit to Raleigh, but he already has an offer from UNC and is being recruited to the Tar Heels by Randy Jordan.

Early on, Ricky Walker is high on UNC, Penn State, Boston College, Old Dominion, and in-state power Virginia Tech. Walker has also received offers from N.C. State, UConn, Maryland, Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Louisiana-Lafayette in his recruitment. West Virginia, Duke, and Virginia are also interested.
Walker is ranked by the 247Composite as the 308th-best recruit in the 2014 class overall, and the Bethel High standout is clearly one of the top 15 prospects in the state of Virginia. A four-star prospect, Walker was one of the most dominant defensive players in the state of Virginia last season for Bethel, and his visit to UNC will be crucial for both Walker and the Tar Heels. UNC is a team involved early on in his recruitment, and they would love to land the talented, four-star DT.
Not only does Walker have a visit lined up to UNC this month (today), he also has a visit to one of the biggest football programs in the country set later this month- the Penn State Nittany Lions. PSU will welcome him to their school in State College on the 23rd of March, and that is another big visit for Walker.
