Sheldon Richardson is the most common choice for the Carolina Panthers in most 2013 NFL Mock Drafts, and the FanSided.com main page did not buck the trend. They selected Richardson for the Panthers in this week’s mock draft, and you can read the full mock above.

The Carolina Panthers need help at defensive tackle above all else, and Richardson’s ability to push the pocket with his speed and explosiveness would make him a great asset for the Panthers. He does an excellent job of penetrating the interior of an offensive line, and Richardson would be a nice pick for the Panthers at 14.

Richardson has met with a variety of teams so far, and his interest is exploding. There is a chance he won’t be available for the Panthers at pick number 14, but he’ll most likely be there for the Panthers to snap up. He has a workout set up with the Cleveland Browns, and teams like the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kansas City Chiefs are also interested.

Hopefully, Sheldon Richardson won’t be picked before the 14th selection, so that the Panthers have a good shot at landing one of their top targets in the draft. If he does get picked earlier, then the Panthers could be looking at taking a wide receiver like Cordarrelle Patterson of the Tennessee Volunteers.
