Montreal Canadiens Stop Carolina Hurricanes Winning Streak

The Montreal Canadiens made the trip down south to the United States to take on the red hot Carolina Hurricanes last night in Raleigh. However, while being on a four game winning streak and the surprise of the NHL, the Canadiens were too hot for the Hurricanes to handle.

Montreal dominated the first and third periods, but Carolina dominated the second period. However, when is all said and done, four is greater than two.

Brandon Prust, Josh Gorges, Lars Eller and PK Subban scored one goal each for the Canadiens. Subban’s goal came during a power play that gave them the advantage. Eller would have two assists as well and Subban would have an assist as well himself.

Scoring for the Hurricanes were Jordan Stall and Drayson Bowman. Both goals for Carolina were in the second period in which they dominated.

Hurricanes goalkeeper Justin Peters made twenty-four saves on twenty-eight shots. This was just his second game since being called up from the Charlotte Checkers earlier this week when Cam Ward’s injuries were announced.

Final Score: Montreal 4 – Carolina 2 | Player of the Game: Lars Eller
