The Carolina Panthers have signed the veteran defensive tackle, Cole, to a contract.

The Panthers are better than their record of the past two seasons shows. But they still have plenty of room to improve and the first step is to find some size for their defensive line. Dave Gettleman made it clear that size matters during his introductory press conference.

With the signing of Cole, the Panthers are definitely going to be bringing in some size. Cole is six feet, two inches tall and he weight a massive three-hundred and twenty-eight pounds.

The Panthers also needed some veteran experience on this team and they got that with Cole too and not just his size.

With Gettleman and the Panthers signing Colin Cole, the question is what is the strategy for the NFL Draft this year. Most, if not all, mock drafts had the Panthers drafting a defensive tackle. Is this still something the Panthers want and will pursue?

With 84 years under his belt, Cole has racked up 182 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his career. At thirty-two years old it is not going to be easy for Cole to return and be successful. It’s a rare occurrence in the NFL, but not impossible nor unheard of.
