Coach K announced Tuesday night that Hairston has stitches from an infection in his right arm from a cut he suffered during Duke’s win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on January 30th.
Krzyzewski also said that Hairston wore a sling yesterday. Whether he will again today is unknown.
"“I’m not optimistic for this game and we’ll see about Sunday against Boston College,” said Krzyzewski. “That puts us down to eight guys.”"
Duke has begun to find a rhythm without the injured Ryan Kelly, but now without Hairston, the Blue Devils are going to have to make more minor adjustments without Hairston.
The Blue Devils played the Wolfpack at the PNC Arena a few weeks ago, but will now get their rematch in Durham. Hairston had eight points and five rebounds in that loss at NC State.
As for the return of Ryan Kelly, Coach K had no new news or updates on Kelly’s status other than he still can’t put weight on his foot.
