N.C. State Football Recruiting: Georgia Bulldogs offer George Campbell

Even though the 2013 recruiting class is all the rage now with National Signing Day coming up soon, let’s take a look at an elite 2015 prospect who is already adding some major offers in his recruitment. East Lake High standout George Campbell plays for one of the better teams in the state of Florida, and he received an offer yesterday from the Georgia Bulldogs that gives him yet another major SEC offer. The North Carolina State Wolfpack are also among Campbell’s offers, but from the early going it looks like they don’t have much of a shot at landing the athlete.

George Campbell is a stand out for East Lake at wide receiver and safety, but he is best off at the wide receiver position and showed plenty of big-play ability last season with 30 receptions for 766 yards and seven touchdowns. A freakish athlete, Campbell is a towering 6’5″, 181 pounds and has all the tools to be an elite, big-play wide receiver at the collegiate level.

The Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, USF Bulls, Georgia, Arkansas, N.C. State, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ohio State, UCF, and Michigan have all offered the Tarpon Springs recruit. UF and FSU are the two in-state powerhouses, and they are the two teams with the early edge in Campbell’s recruiting. Florida State has shown a high amount of interest in Campbell, and Michigan has also kept close eye on him.

Campbell took an unofficial visit to the Wolverines back in December, and he was offered on an unofficial visit to Georgia yesterday. The Bulldogs have been hitting the recruiting trail hard recently and have brought in many recruits for visits this weekend. This is a big offer in Campbell’s recruitment, but the teams to watch for the closest are definitely the in-state powers in Florida State and Florida.
