UNC Football Recruiting: Stanford visit Quenton Nelson
The Stanford Cardinal visited Red Bank High to check out 2014 three-star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson, who currently has offers from the UNC Tar Heels and N.C. State Wolfpack. Nelson has 14 offers in total, and it will be interesting to see if Stanford becomes one of them soon. Quite a few of the offers are from major programs.

Boston College, Miami, Virginia, Wisconsin, Penn State, Old Dominion, Northwestern, UNC, N.C. State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Maryland have all offered the top 15 New Jersey recruit.
The 6’5″, 285 pound OL can play at either guard or tackle, but he’s probably best of at the guard position where he is likely one of the top 20 recruits in 2014. Overall, the 247Composite ranks him as one of the top 400 recruits in the class.
Nelson received a big offer from Ohio State on the 27th of November, so he certainly has quite a bit of momentum in his recruitment. Stanford is one of many elite programs who have not offered but are looking closely at Nelson. He will be weighing in academics into his decision and does not mind playing away from New Jersey. However, he did say that he “wouldn’t want to go all the way across the country” to NJ.com’s Todderick Hunt.
His last visit was to Penn State in late October, and it was an enjoyable one for Nelson.
