The Charlotte Hornets have evened the series with the Miami Heat and now head back to Miami to try to take the lead.

After the first two games in this series I was ready to get the broom out and call it a sweep but to my surprise the Charlotte Hornets have fought back to get into this series again.

Now the biggest question mark becomes can they knock off the Heat at home. There is a strong possibility that they could knock off the Heat in Miami Wednesday but they will have to step it up a notch compared to their first two games in Miami.

The Hornets are on a roll right now and seem to have finally realized what playoff basketball is like. Jeremy Lin and Kemba Walker have really stepped up their intensity since Nicolas Batum went down in game two of the series.

First off for the Hornets to win game five on the road in Miami they will have to overcome the officiating as well as the crowd. Both will most certainly be in the favor of the Heat (big markets get crucial calls). The next thing is that they can not have a massive amount of turnovers which will in turn give the Heat more chances to score.

Finally they can not have a bad shooting night or it doesn’t matter about the rest they will lose the game. So, in other words they will have to play an almost perfect game to have a chance to win. Is this Hornets team capable of doing that? Yes, they are more than capable of doing that and have done so before.

It is all about how they approach the game. If they come out like game one of the series and look lost then it will be another butt whipping. If they come out like game three and play hard I think they will win game five and will go on to clinch the series in Charlotte Friday night.

Wouldn’t it be something to watch this new version of the Hornets clinch a spot in the second round of the NBA playoffs at home. The atmosphere would be unlike anything NBA fans in Carolina have experienced since the old Hornets left.

The Carolina area is a huge basketball area filled with die hard college basketball fans but if the Hornets start building a winning team this area will be buzzing all about them. It would bring in more casual fans as well as fans of college basketball in the area who shut out the NBA after the old Hornets left

The Hive was rocking this past Saturday and Monday which proves this area loves the team a lot. A man can dream about them moving on to the second round can’t he?

So, what should we expect from game five in this series? We should expect a Hornets victory and the media buzz about clinching the series on Friday night. The Hornets have proven even when I doubted they could do it that they are a team to be feared.

Expect a tight one but at the end either Lin or Walker will come up clutch for the Hornets. The score prediction will be 104-98. Go Hornets!
